Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies. There is nothing stored on your device by itacatech.com, so there is nothing for you to accept, refuse, or clear, and nothing for a banner to ask you about. We would rather build a site that does not need a consent banner than build one, and this page explains what we do instead.

Why there is no banner

A consent banner exists because of one rule: storing information on your device, or reading what is already there, requires your permission. That rule is about your device, not about the word "cookie," so it also covers local storage and browser fingerprinting.

We write nothing to your device and read nothing from it. The rule is not engaged, so asking for consent would be asking you to approve something that is not happening.

Separately, handling your IP address is regulated as personal data, and that obligation is about being told rather than being asked. Telling you is what this page and the privacy notice are for, and you can object to it at any time.

What we measure instead

We count traffic with Plausible, configured so that it:

It doesIt does not
Count page viewsSet any cookie
Count a few interactions: a form opened, a form submitted, a link followedStore your IP address
Report which site you arrived fromBuild a profile of you
Report country, region, city, browser, and device type in aggregateFollow you to other websites
Keep totalsKeep anything traceable to a person

Plausible counts a visit by hashing your IP address and browser together with a salt that it deletes and replaces every 24 hours. The hash cannot be turned back into your IP address, and once the salt is gone the old hashes stop matching anything, so nothing here can recognise you from one day to the next.

Plausible is a European company, and it processes and stores these counts in the European Union, on servers in Germany. Your IP address reaches it to produce the hash and to look up the country, and is discarded rather than stored.

We use this to see which service pages get read and how many people who open the contact form actually send it. It cannot tell us who you are.

What loads from another domain

One thing, and only on the two pages that have a form:

FromWhereWhat it doesCookies
Cloudflare Turnstile, challenges.cloudflare.comContact form, job application formConfirms you are not a bot before we accept a submission, without making you solve a puzzleNone on this site

Cloudflare receives your IP address to run that check. This is the alternative to a CAPTCHA that we judged least invasive, and without it the forms would be filled by scripts within a week. If you would rather not use it, call +1 786 568 8890 or write to compliance@itacatech.com and we will take it from there.

Everything else on this site is served from our own domain: fonts, images, styles, and scripts. The analytics script is one of them. Your browser asks itacatech.com for it and sends the counts to itacatech.com, and our server passes them to Plausible, so there is no request to a third-party address for us to explain. Nothing loads from an advertising network, a social platform, a font service, or a tag manager, because there is none of that here.

What we removed to get here

We audited every request the site makes and cut what was not load-bearing:

  • hover screenshots on the compliance citations, which fired eight requests to an external API on every homepage load and, for both ISO links, showed a bot-check page instead of the standard
  • an embedded Google map on the contact page, now a self-hosted still built from OpenStreetMap, because the embed was already non-interactive
  • placeholder images still served from a third-party demo CDN, now self-hosted

None of that cost us a feature. All of it made the pages load faster.

Browser controls

There is nothing from this site to clear, but the controls are worth knowing: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.

Blocking anything will not break this site.

If this changes

If we ever add something that stores data on your device, we will build the consent mechanism first, ask before we load it, and change this page before the change ships. We will not add a tracker and describe it afterwards.
